NATALIE GUNNING
I have always had a love for fitness and been competitive throughout my life, whether in sports or academically. I have been a physical therapist for the past 12 years, working primarily with orthopedic and athletic conditions. I've seen firsthand the importance of taking care and prioritizing your health through all stages of life, and am passionate about using movement as medicine.
As a physical therapist, I get to see people after they are injured, so getting to train healthy individuals is something I really enjoy. Kettlebell training offers so much in the way of injury prevention, as it utilizes several muscle groups at one time, emphasizes technique and mobility, all while building muscle. I especially enjoy when a MADE member accomplishes a new feat, whether lifting a little heavier, doing a pull up for the first time, or running further than they could before!
I earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Missouri, and have speciality certifications in Functional Dry Needling, Selective Functional Movement Analysis, Kinesiotaping, Pain Neuroscience, McKenzie Method, Fall Management and Spinal Manipulation. After working with athletes at Spalding University, I received my Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, being outdoors as much as I can, and watching Jeopardy:).
